Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] ⷠForeign objects such as nails, screws, pieces of metal, sand, etc. ⷠA dull saw chain can cause overheating and damage the saw. ⷠIf the machine is not in use for a period of time, it should be stored in such a manner that it cannot endanger anyone. Pull the power cord or remove the power cord with the patented Quick-Lock and put the chain guard on. [. . . ] When replacing the saw blade, be sure that the flange (20), pressure washer (21) and washer (22) are mounted on the saw spindle in the right order. Pull bar away from chain pinion (24), until the entire length of the chain is in contact with the bar, and re-tighten with the clamp screw. To check, pull the chain on one side in the middle of the bar out of the guide groove (without much effort). The gap between the chain and the bar should be about 3 mm (see illustration). Break-in period: You will prolong the life of the chain saw quite considerably if you break the chain in well. Insure suffcient lubrication: before every second cut push the oil pump button to pump extra oil into the guide groove in addition to force-feed lubrication. Only after this thirty minute period should you use the machine for more difficult cuts and greater cutting depths. Never use waste oil the impurities in the oil would become deposited in the lubrication channels and lead to blockages. We recomend the use of standard chain lubrication oils whose consistency has been especially developed for use in chain saws. Do not continue sawing if the oil level in the tank falls below the minimum mark (26). Clean the oil fill spout thoroughly every time before adding more oil. This prevents saw dust from getting into the tank and causing blockage of the oil feed. To fill the tank, press in the knob (2) of the oil pump and turn to the right until the arrows on the tank and the knob match up. Turn knob (2) to the left until the arrows on the tank and the knob match up and the knob pops up. In this position, oil flows constantly into the chain guide, even when not in use. The advantage of constant lubrication: The initial friction of the chain saw is less and the life of the saw is prolonged. Please close the tank when the machine is not in use (to protect the environment)! If you press the knob of the oil pump and release it again while the oil feed is open, oil is pumped into the guide groove of the bar in addition to the force feed lubrication. The oil tank of the chain saw should reach the MINIMUM level after about thirty minutes of uninterrupted cutting. If this is not the case, then the iol discharge opening in the guide groove is plugged up with saw dust. [. . . ] Sharpen saw chain (if the saw demands greater cutting pressure or if only a few small chips are removed, this is a sign of a dull chain). We are therefore able to guarantee free servicing of any production or material faults which arise in the 24 months after the date of sale to the purchaser. We reserve the right to repair defective parts or else replace them with new parts. The guarantee will be rendered void if the device is used improperly, mistreated or opened up by unauthorised repair personnel. [. . . ]
