Please read this manual carefully before using your NEC HT510/HT410 Projector and keep the manual handy for future reference. Record it here: CAUTION To turn off main power, be sure to remove the plug from power outlet. The power outlet socket should be installed as near to the equipment as possible, and should be easily accessible. 3. PROJECTING AN IMAGE (BASIC OPERATION)
Focus Use the Focus ring to obtain the best focus.
NOTE: In a ceiling mounted application, the zoom and focus adjustments may cause the projected image to shift down slightly. If this happens, adjust the lens shift again.
Correcting the Vertical Keystone Distortion
The Keystone correction feature will correct the vertical distortion of a projected image on the screen.
NOTE: Keystone angle can be corrected between 15 degrees upward and 15 degrees downward of projector tilt from level.
To correct keystone distortion using the KEYSTONE +/- button: 1. Press the KEYSTONE +/- button once to display the slide bar for adjustment.
NOISE RED. Press the KEYSTONE + or - to correct the keystone distortion.

You can also correct keystone distortion by using the menu. Use the SELECT G or H to select "Image" and then "Keystone". NOTE: When this option is highlighted, pressing the ENTER button will display its slide bar for adjustment. Press the AUTO ADJ. button to fine-tune the computer image or to remove any vertical banding that might appear and to reduce video noise, dot interference or cross talk (this is evident when part of your image appears to be shimmering). This function adjusts the clock frequencies that eliminate the horizontal banding in the image. This function also adjusts the clock phase to reduce video noise, dot interference or cross talk. (This is evident when part of your image appears to be shimmering. ) This adjustment may be necessary when you connect your computer for the first time.
NOTE: · Some signals may not be displayed correctly or take time. · The Auto Adjust function does not work for component and video signals. · If the Auto Adjust operation cannot optimize the RGB signal, try to adjust Clock and Phase manually. See page E-37.
