[. . . ] Coffee maker with hotplate: Caution: the hot-plate becomes very hot during operation. The base of the heat-retaining jug becomes hot during the brewing cycle. Therefore, use only the handle when removing the jug, and always place it on a heat-resistant surface. To prevent the danger of hot water or steam being emitted, always switch off the coffee maker and allow sufficient time for the appliance to cool down before opening the lid or removing any accessories or attachments. [. . . ] Replace the reservoir in the appliance and push it down to open the valve in the bottom of the reservoir. - Inserting the paper filter Pull out the filter holder by its handle and insert a paper filter size 1x4, first folding down its perforated sides. - Adding ground coffee We recommend using fine ground filter coffee, approximately 6 g = 11/2 - 2 tsp. - Preparing the jug Fit the aroma protection lid onto the carafe, and then place the carafe into the appliance. If correctly inserted, the lid will disable the drip-stop mechanism in the filter holder

during the brewing cycle. All water has run through the filter holder into the jug, remove the jug to serve the coffee. Coffee maker with glass carafe: The flashing indicator light in the switch shows that the keep-warm function is active. The hotplate will keep the remaining coffee in the glass jug warm as long as you leave it switched on, or until the auto switch-off function is activated after about 90 minutes. If the hotplate is switched of by the auto switch-off function, the indicator light in the switch shows only a weak glow. Coffee maker with heat-retaining jug The heating element in the appliance is automatically switched off after the brewing cycle is complete; the indicator light in the switch shows only a weak glow. - Switching off the appliance After use, switch off the appliance and unplug from the mains supply socket. Coffee maker with drip-through lid During the filtering process and while pouring the coffee out, the drip-through lid does not need to be removed and should remain on the jug. To pour the coffee, press the lever on the lid down to open it, when the coffee may now pass out through the spout. Coffee maker with vacuum jug - For technical reasons the screw cap does not close hermetically. Therefore the jug should preferably be filled to its maximum capacity. If it is only partly filled, the temperature will not be held as efficiently. If you rinse out the jug
with hot water before use, the coffee will be kept warm for a longer time. Descaling

Descaling is required when the filtering process takes longer than normal, or if the appliance becomes noisy during operation. To avoid damage caused by the build-up of deposits, descale the appliance after thirty to forty operations. Add two to three tablespoons of vinegar essence to the maximum amount of cold water. Place a paper filter into the filter holder (without ground coffee) and operate the appliance as described in section To prepare filter coffee. [. . . ] To avoid the risk of electric shock, never immerse the coffee maker in water. - Remove the paper filter with the used grounds and clean the filter holder in warm soapy water.
