About MP3, WMA, DivX® and JPEG discs
You can play MP3, WMA and DivX® files recorded on a CD-R or CD-RW with similar uses as a music CD or a DVD. The DVD receiver regards folders in the disc as albums, and files as tracks (as shown below). For details about how to play these files, refer to "ENJOYING MULTIMEDIA FILES ON DISCS" (page 32). "MP3 (MPEG-1 Audio Layer-3)" is a standard technology and format for compressing an audio sequence into a small-sized file. However it preserves the original level of sound quality when it is played. Notes
· Depending on recording conditions such as recording software settings, the DVD receiver may not be able to play the disc or play tracks in the order they were recorded. · The DVD receiver is compatible with a bit rate range of 32, 64, 96, 128, 192, 256 or 320 kbps and variable bit encoded MP3 files. · The DVD receiver is compatible with a sampling frequency of 16, 32, 44. 1, or 48 kHz.

What is WMA?
"WMA (Windows Media Audio)" is a Microsoft file format for encoding digital audio files similar to MP3 though can compress files at a higher rate than MP3.
What is JPEG?With only a slight drop in image quality (part of the data is removed), still image data can be compressed to approximately 1/10 to 1/100 of its original size. Note
This unit does not support the progressive JPEG format.
What is DivX®?"DivX®" is a video compression technology developed by DivX® Networks, Inc. It compresses digital video data to sizes small enough to be transported over the Internet without reducing the original video quality. You need DivX® codec software to play back DivX® movies or convert data to the DivX® format.
